Radiology

Radiology at Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center is a diverse and hi-tech area of care that works in tandem with many other services offered at the facility.  Radiology services at Pattie A. Clay include CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography, general x-rays and stereotatic breast biopsy. At the Instant Care Center, patients can receive bone density scanning, which helps determine the presence of osteoporosis.

Pattie A. Clay combines the high level of professional expertise that is required for radiology with a number of other services available at the medical center, offering patients the best in personal care and innovation.

Pattie A. Clay has made sizable investments in the areas of nuclear medicine and stereotactic breast biopsy equipment.  The most recent enhancement of patient care comes in the form of upgraded tele-radiology equipment.  The new capabilities allow technologists working in the areas of CT, ultrasound and nuclear medicine to send electronic images from the machines to radiologists’ homes, no matter the time of day or night, for viewing and preliminary diagnosis.  This streamlined process results in quicker interaction between the radiologist and the physician ordering the examination.  Tele-radiology is an important first step in the development of an exciting system for the medical center in which films or images will be stored in an electronic library.  Such a system will enable physicians to view their patient’s x-rays on a computer screen in different areas of the hospital or in their offices immediately after the images are taken.  This system has proven to be more efficient and is an enhancement to patient care.

In 2003, Pattie A. Clay added on-site, permanent MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) capabilities, through the services of Professional Radiology, LLC.
