As a medical center employee, you will enjoy a generous leave package that includes holidays, vacation leave, and sick leave days that assist employees with balancing work and family responsibilities.
 

  • Vacations: To be eligible for a paid vacation an employee must complete six (6) months of continuous, full-time or part-time employment with the hospital.
    1. Full-time Employees working 40 hours per week are eligible for vacation on the following basis.
      • One completed year of service 10 days (2 Weeks)
      • Two competed years of service 12 days
      • Three completed years of service 13 days
      • Four completed years of service 14 days
      • Five completed years of service 15 days (3 weeks)
      • Six completed years of service 15 days
      • Seven completed years of service 16 days
      • Eight completed years of service 16 days
      • Nine completed years of service 17 days
      • Ten completed years of service 17 days
      • Eleven completed years of service 18 days
      • Twelve completed years of service 18 days
      • Thirteen completed years of service 19 days
      • Fourteen completed years of service 19 days
      • Fifteen completed years of service 20 days (4 Weeks)
      • Over fifteen completed years of service 20 days
         
    2. Regular employees working less than 40 hours per week will be granted to pro-rata share of the vacation time given to full-time employees working 40 hours per week, according to the average number of hours worked per week.
       
  • Sick leave: Full-time employees working 40 hours per week accrue 3.692 hours of sick leave per pay period (12 days per year). Regular full-time employees working less than 40 hours per week will receive a pro-rata share of sick leave.
     
  • Sick Leave Conversion: An employee who accumulates over 30 days sick leave will be eligible for an annual cash bonus. The employee must report on their birthday each year which of the following options they wish to take for those sick days accrued during the previous year.
    • Option #1: On the employee’s birthday following the accumulation of at least 30 sick days, that employee may turn those days in excess of 30 days in for l/2 of their current rate of pay.
    • Option #2: The employee may continue to save the sick days in excess of 30 days rather than receive a cash bonus.
       
  • Holidays: We currently offer eight paid holidays (64 hours), they are: New Year’s, Spring Day (February – April), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and employee’s birthday.
