Guidelines for visitation have been established in order to provide psychosocial support for the patient while maintaining an environment conducive to patient care. We encourage visitors to observe the guidelines of specific patient care areas. Questions can be directed to the unit’s nurse manager. Doctors may also limit visitation hours in any area for medical reasons.

General visiting hours are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parents of pediatric patients may visit anytime, 24 hours a day.

Children visiting the hospital
Some nursing area’s visiting hours may vary, so please check with your nurse. Children under 14 years of age are discouraged in the patient care areas of the hospital. Children must be supervised at all times when visiting.
 

• We request guests to visit two at a time, except during special circumstances as otherwise directed by the primary nurse.
• Visiting hours are 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Around 7:00 p.m. visitors will be asked to retreat to the waiting area during report which is a time of nurse to nurse information exchange. This will allow for confidentiality of patient information in a very close environment and to allow the oncoming nurse introductory time with his/her patients.   

Visiting the Obstetrical Unit For the postpartum patient a mother may choose a "significant other" in regards to visitation. This person, once designated, remains the significant other throughout the hospital stay and will be given an identification bracelet.

• Normal visiting hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.
• Only two visitors at any one time are encouraged.
• It is recommended that visitors limit their visit to 20 minutes.
• Visitors who are present with the baby should do a thorough hand and arm washing with the appropriate cleanser.

If you are ill
Please avoid visiting patients if you have a cold or other possible contagious illness.
