Pattie A. Clay Foundation has announced that Michael Eaves has been selected to chair the 2006 Pro-Am Classic golf tournament.  In its seventh year, the Pro-Am Classic will be held on September 21 at The Bull at Boones’ Trace. Scott Porter, club pro at The Bull will serve at the host professional. Sword Floyd & Moody, PLLC was announced as the tournament’s primary sponsor, with Madison Bank providing   underwriting support, while Peoples Bank of Madison County is sponsoring dinner for the event. 

The Pro-Am Classic is Richmond’s only pro-am tournament, and includes some of Kentucky’s top club pros competing for over $15,000 in prize money, including a $5,000 skins competition.  Teams consist of three amateurs and one professional player, with a team competition, prizes for low amateur and various prizes for individual player accomplishments.  Proceeds from the tournament go to the Pattie A. Clay Foundation to support the quality health care services at Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center.

Scott Porter has been one of the top three finishers each year since the Pro-Am Classic was formed, finishing in first place in both 2002 and 2000.  Besides Porter, slated to play in this year’s event are professionals from across the state, including Greg Basham (Iroquios), winner of the 2002 Pro-Am Classic, Josh Teater (Greenbrier), Jeff Moffett (Woodford Hills), Ralph Landrum (Devou Park), Mike Thomas (Harmony Landing), and Chris Osborne (Maywood), among others.  Each of the 30 professionals who will play in the event will be paired with 3 amatuer players, chosen by the tournament sponsors.  Sponsorship opportunities are still available by contacting the Pattie A.
